Hanging out with our new friends Jennie, Jonas, and Noah

We met some nice new friends while at Vasapark a few weeks ago. Jennie and Jonas have a son named Noah, and they are Swedish! Jennie did the very un-Swedish thing and invited us over for fika and then out to the park to play. Here I am with Noah. He is super cute! It's like having a little brother.

Goodbye to the Crumps part 2

John was playing with a cattail, using it like a light sabre. He is only about one year older than me, but I really really wanted to be just like him and have my own light sabre!

Goodbye to the Crumps part 1

Here I am with dad out on the Crump's dock! What a pretty lake. It's called Lake Malaren.

We went to a party today, to say goodbye to Byron, Amy, Emma, Edgar, and John Crump. They were also living in Sweden for Byron's sabbatical in the same department as mommy. Soon they are going home to Maryland. We had a great time hanging out by the lake and frolicking in their yard hunting for wild blueberries, smultron, and raspberries.

Around Uppsala with Tia Carol

Here I am riding on a statue by the river with Tia Carol!

Tia Carol has to leave today, so we spent the morning hanging around in Uppsala. Check out this brave duck! He thought I had some bread, but I didn't.

Reading with Tia Carol

Tia Carol read me some stories while she was visiting us. I tried to get her to read it in Spanish, but she decided to use English instead!

Botanical gardens with Tia Carol

I love my Tia Carol!
Today we went to the botanical gardens near the university, with Tia Carol. It was rainy, but we did get a break for about an hour so we could run around and explore the gardens.

Jordgubbar with Tia Carol

Picking with mom.
With mom and Tia Carol. Yes, I have a giant strawberry in my mouth!

As you can see, a storm was coming. Hurry up and fill your buckets (and your bellies)!

We went strawberry picking AGAIN, but this time near Uppsala with Tia Carol! She came to visit us from Spain. We decided to show her some Swedish traditions/obsessions. So we went to the jordgubbar field.

Playing in the park in Vadstena

It rained a few times, but it didn't spoil our fun! We just stomped around in the puddles.

We spent several afternoons playing in the park in Vadstena.

Around Vadstena

We spent several days just bumming around Vadstena, enjoying the gorgeous summer weather.

Stefan's boat

Yummmmy Swedish beer.

The key to making sailing fun is to have tasty malted beverages. Here I am with mine!

Peeking from the cabin of the boat.

Today mom's host Stefan took us on his sailing boat. It was big! Here I am in front of it with dad.

Running in the park in Vadstena

Shopping in Vadstena

Shopping in downtown Vadstena! I needed to take a short break.

Helsingborg

By now you've probably figured out that I really love standing in doorways!

With dad by the church in Helsingborg.

Playing in the church gardens after dinner.

Today we drove north from Copenhagen and after a short stop at a famous art museum, we took the ferry across the Øresund to Helsingborg. We stayed the night in Helsingborg, and spent the evening exploring the city. Here I am with dad in front of the city hall.

Tivoli part 3 - Dragon boats

One of my favorite rides at Tivoli was the Dragon Boats. Here I am with mom in one. I am totally in love with boats!
