Kulturernas Karneval

We went to see the parade for the Kulturernas Karneval in Uppsala. It was a festival celebrating the cultures of people living in and around Uppsala, so we saw people dancing and dressed up in all kinds of interesting ways. They had displays set up in the park to showcase different cultural activities, and food stands selling tasty treats.

I had a great time watching the pretty girls with short skirts dancing in the parade.

My first out door music festival! Here I am sitting in front of the stage where Clara Lindsjö was playing. She makes music using loop pedals. It's hard to explain just how cool it is... you should visit her web page and listen for yourself .

We stopped in Norrtälje on the way home from Lake Erken and played in the park. I got to chase some ducks and just run around and be silly.

We went out on a boat to tour the lake. It was a gorgeous day!

Gotta be safe! At least now the life preservers fit me better than they did last year at Whipporwill lake in Minnesota.
I went in a sauna for the first time ever! I didn't like it too much, but it might have been because I was tired.
We went out to the field station at Lake Erken to spend a couple days hiking and boating. Mom's host Stefan was teaching a course there so we were hanging out with him. Here I am with mom overlooking the lake.

We went to the Crump's house for a party! They live on a lake. I had lots of fun pushing the wagon around. I actually much prefer to push it than to ride in it!!

Here we are at a restaurant called "Lingon", just a few blocks away from our apartment in Uppsala. It's Mother's day so we went out for brunch.

Grandma and Grandpa Sauer visit! part 1

We also went to the Vasa museum! This is mom, Grandma, and Grandpa standing in front of the huge boat that sank on its first voyage in 1628.

We walked around Stockholm on Saturday. Here we are in front of the Nobel Museum in Gamla Stan.

We had pizza for lunch near KTH, where lots of students eat doner kebap and pizza. I prefer to drink beer for my lunch, thank you! Grandpa was really nice and let me play with his beer.

Grandma and Grandpa Sauer came to visit us in Sweden! Grandpa Sauer had some meetings at KTH, the famous university in Stockholm, so Grandma came along. Here we are riding one of the hop-on-hop-off tourist boats in Stockholm.

I love to cook!

Daddy cooks us dinner most nights, and I'm learning how to cook from him. It may be hard to see, but I have a saucepan with a plastic spoon to stir the yummy stew I'm making!
